Our Mission: The Mustang Creek Music and Arts Festival strives to spotlight artists of all mediums from the Greater Kaufman and Hunt County area. Since the 1870s, people have settled the area once known as “Brooklyn, TX” thanks to its serendipitous positioning at the intersection of Buffalo Creek and Mustang Creek. These two creeks provided a fertile stretch of blackland prairie that the early settlers used to entice the Missouri Pacific, Union Pacific, and Texas and Pacifc Railroads into running rail lines through the area. The community has grown well beyond the original Brooklyn settlement, now sitting a convenient 21 miles east of Dallas. Forney continues to draw new residents looking to put down roots thanks to our safe neighborhoods, schools, and parks.

We hope to create a community for local songwriters, musicians, artisans, crafters, and creators of all types.

This festival will provide a much needed platform for artisans and artists alike in the area to showcase their abilities.
